espectively PhD and Doctor and Lecturer in Applied Arts, Hanika Perez (born 1982) and Brice Genre (born 1979) base their agency A+B in Toulouse in 2007.Their academic education infuses a transversal approach opened to humanities and finds its references in related fields of art and disciplines. They consider the object as a pretext to event and to qualitative relationship with the individual who practices it.
Their projects begin with stories, with a life script embodied by the object, which involves typological questioning of function, use, or its means of production. They attach great importance to the poietic dimension: the object is the memory of his own history, intentions and tools that have shaped it.
The production of A+B extends from practical and theoretical prospective research, to design of unique pieces or design of industrial objects. They design regularly for industrial companies like SOTRALU,
META IT and recently for Group SEB . They also work on projects of space design or exhibition design.
A+B were winners of international competitions such as Parckdesign in 2007, Nespresso Design Contest in 2008, public tender of global design sponsored by La Cuisine and the Municipality of Nègrepelisse in 2009, and Design Parade in 05 in 2010. Their outdoor furniture « Lunch on the Shadow » published by Tôlerie Forézienne was labeled by the Observer Design in 2010.
In addition to their agency, Hanika Perez and Brice Genre are teachers at the University of Toulouse Le Mirail and the Ecole Nationale des Arts de Limoges Aubusson.
